I took a year out between school and going to university. I left school with three A levels: English Literature B, History C and Spanish C. I wanted to go off traveling and try out my Spanish language skills.

I flew from London to Panama via Miami. I arrived and the weather was hot a humid compared to the UK. I travelled by bus all day to reach a coastal town. I reached it after dark and stayed at a noisy little guest house. I went on a day trip to see the Panama Canal. The next day I took a boat out to a tropical island. It was small with a white sandy beach and gently waving green palm trees. I spent my days swimming and snorkeling around the coral reef. I returned to the mainland by boat and then caught a bus to Costa Rica. There I headed to one of the beautiful cloud forests. I saw lots of monkeys and some attractive looking birds. A few days later I walked along a beach and saw turtles.

Next I ventured into Nicaragua and from the capital flew by plane on to Big Corn Island. I caught a boat to Little Corn Island. At my guest house I got talking to a guy called Sam and he was from England too. He told me he worked for a driving school as a driving instructor. He admitted to him that I hadn't learned to drive. He told me that he made learner drivers defensive on the road so they wouldn't have accidents. He said a driving school like his charged £20 an hour for driving lessons.

Sam and I hung around together. On my last evening I watched the orange sun set over the water. I cuddled up on the white sand holding Sam's hand and we looked up at the night sky with all the sparkly stars. He kissed my lips ever so passionately. He came with me to the historical towns of Leon and Granada. All so soon Sam's holiday was over and off he went back to a driving school that I wanted to learn to drive with.

I missed Sam during the rest of my trip and we stayed in contact through emails. When I came home to England he met me at the airport. He said that he loved me and that he was delighted that I was with him. He gave me a present of twenty driving lessons of two hours each with him. Then I was amazed to pass my practical driving test after that. I had got on so very well with a driving school that I think is no less than excellent. I have sold my moped that I used to ride to school and now I drive my car to university.
